... is that you shouldn't hoard yarn while waiting for a magical pattern to appear. you want to know why? i'll tell you why. because that very special (mythical even!) yarn will langour in your stash for years while you create this imaginary perfect sweater in your head that no yarn or pattern can ever measure up to. it's sort of like carrying a torch for someone for years and then, suddenly, you find yourself on a date with the guy or girl of your dreams and you discover that they're not so special after all. bah.
anyway. as you can see i've started to knit a sweater with my perfect, mythical, 100% cashmere. and as many of you know, for years i've struggled with finding a pattern worthy of her highness. sigh. i'm not sure how i feel about this thus far. i didn't want the fabric to be too dense, so i went down a needle size. to me, reverse stockinette is always a bit more interesting than stockinette, so i went with that. don't really know if i'm in love with the look of this cable. so many questions.
on top of all of this, i'm feeling under the weather today and i'm pissed off about it because i have a lot of work to do. my mind's telling me to 'get to it', while my body is telling me to put on a dvd, curl up on the sofa, and relax. what's a girl to do?
After going non stop since 5:45am I'm also ready to curl up on the couch rather than dye yarn and go grocery shopping for Thanksgiving. Ugh. I need a clone.
I hope you feel better.

If it helps cheer you up, from the picture the sweater panel looks lovely :), the cables look crisp :).
Hope you are feeling better today.

I pick "relax". (of course because I'm lazy, LOL)
The sweater looks very good so far, but I know what you mean about having a pattern worthy of the yarn--I don't know if I'll EVER have cashmere then.

I say relax because that's what I want to do right now. (I'm at work.) I think what you've done so far is lovely, but if you're not feeling it, don't force it.
I must tell you tho that I know exactly what you're talking about regarding the cashmere. I have a big bag of the stuff from School Products, and I have no idea what to do with it. I've made a few scarves, but what do I do with the rest? I need to follow your lead and just go ahead and make something.
Thank you for making my work days behind this desk a little shorter, btw.

Thanks for the timely post. I've been hoarding lampworked beads (some you can see on my blog right now), waiting for that "uber-perfect" project to present itself. How silly for them to languish, as you put it, in containers that are out of sight and out of mind. I just pulled several out a few days ago and have commanded myself to randomly pick one, any one, and do something with it. What's the point of having something beautiful to behold if I don't ever look at it?
Feel better.
